"To accomplish great things,
we must not only act, but also dream;
not only plan, but also believe."

Kitchen

Following the discovery of a long term leak and subsequent subfloor damage, I designed and remodeled this kitchen myself over several weekends. The largest modification was the removal of a former exterior wall and replacement with a beam, opening the kitchen to the dining room, and making space for a breakfast bar. A marquetry panel above the range was also hand-made and provides a classic touch.

Eco-Friendly Resort Pool

This project was for the Green Design course offered at Eckerd College by Professor Jesse Sherry. The goal was to take one product or experience and redesign it in an eco-friendly way. For this project, we looked at a swimming pool for a resort. The pool is filtered using plants and UV apparatus. At the same time, the basin and canopy are made with natural materials or, in the case of the transparent panels, highly sustainable material. Located inside the main resort structure is a waterfall ending into a pond with fish and plants which cleans the water of biological material. In such a design, the use of chemicals is reduced or eliminated.

Headquarters Building

This 21-story tower concept was created out of a general interest in building shapes. Designed to use easily recyclable materials and focus on allowing natural light into all usable areas, the two primary sides are completely glass and the lobby/atrium features high ceilings and break-out areas. Keeping a multi-use ideal in mind, the two mezzanines can be used as cafe, event, public, or further open office space. The dramatic shape of the concrete exterior harkens to the intended users name, as well as features a striking overhang to solidify a forward thinking image.

Condo

Using the concepts of storage learned from my time aboard ships, I designed this simple condo to maximise the usable space. Purpose built furniture and creative use of space allow for a 2-bed, 1-bath condo with living area and kitchen. The primary bedroom also has a flex-use space, envisioned as an office. Decorative beams in the living area add a rustic touche while also allowing for various lighting and cable management solutions. A large terrace offers extraordinary views and plenty of functional outdoor space.

Farm House

Having grown up in Oklahoma, I developed a love spending time away from the city surrounded by wide open spaces and fresh air. This simple house was born out of an idea to have a multi-family retreat where we could go individually, or as a group, and enjoy some of the amazing experiences rural Oklahoma has to offer. Featuring two primary bedrooms, three bathrooms, a loft area, open kitchen and modest indoor living area, this house was designed to be a sanctuary and base point for exploring outside. The raised foundation is blocked for additional wind protection, and therefore allows for storage of all manor of outdoor supplies.
